MUSIC at Renaissance Performing Arts Academy
Welcome to a new year at Renaissance Performing Arts Academy.
All of the teachers are excited about getting back into the flow of music lessons and have many exciting things planned for the students this year. As members of MTNA, PianoGuild, NATS, etc, there are many opportunities for performance, competition and critique.
The students who studied during the summer have been hard at work preparing for various festivals and competitions and they have all learned so very much. It is not too late for those just getting started to prepare. Ask your teacher what is available for you.
As we all get back into the normal school semester calendar, please don't forget your music lessons. Schedules are filling up quickly and if you haven't registered for lessons yet, PLEASE contact your teacher directly or the director of the Academy.
Please click on the link at the top that goes to POLICY. This policy is to be read by all students/parents and signed and returned to your teacher who will make a copy for you to keep. This is very important for us to have on hand as is the enrollemnt form which your teacher will give you. Make sure it is filled out, signed and returned to lessons.
All PIANO students will be receiving the PIANO EXPLORER magazine each month as a result of paid registration fees. This is a wonderful magazine for all ages, filled with historical information about music, composers and instruments as well as games and music for you to learn on your own. Students should be receiving their first issue in September. Look for it!
FLUTE TALK and THE INSTRUMENTALIST will be given to other instrumentalist as lessons. These magazines are excellent to read and give some great helpful hints for playing. These are included with your paid registration fee.
We are excited about what we are doing this year at Renaissance Music and one of the things is a NAME CHANGE for the school. Are you creative? We are looking for a great name that encompasses what Renaissance is looking to become. We are a PERFORMING ARTS academy that is growing and enbracing many mediums of performing arts. What are we looking for in a new name?
- Not something "trendy" or "regionally" named
- Strong, easy to pronounce and spell
- shows that we are a performing arts school
- has an easy story to explain it's meaning/origin
Do you think you have a new name for us? We will take entries until the first of December and if we pick your entry, you will receive a music gift card to Music and Arts or J W Pepper. You will also receive credit for having named the school. Put your thinking caps on and give your teacher ideas -- he/she will give you an entry form if you ask.
CALL US! Get started learning and enjoying music TODAY!
